L.A. solves budget crisis with
medical marijuana bake sale
The City of Angels abruptly halted its crackdown on medical marijuana dispensaries today after enlisting pot peddler support for Mayor Villaraigosa's latest deficit-reduction program.
Introducing: the nation's first medical marijuana bake sale. Modeled after church and school bake sales, the event aims to replenish city coffers by selling "special" brownies and cupcakes.
The fundraiser will be advertised on supergraphic signs draped over City Hall and DWP headquarters.
